I have an old Seafarer, the one that has issues with water coming in the scuppers in the back deck. I was reading about this problem and determined that I needed to replace the scuppers on my transom. They’re the old rubber flapper type and mine we’re original and the rubber was deformed. My hope is that I either fixed the problem or made it a heck of a lot better.
Anyway, when reading about the scuppers on another forum, someone suggested replacing the scupper hoses while you’re at it. That’s when I checked my hoses and wow. I absolutely would have sunk. This hose was so brittle, it practically crumbled in my hand.
THANK YOU WHOEVER POSTED THAT, THANK YOU!!!
My warning is, if you haven’t replaced your scupper hoses in a while, replace them or at least check them now and then.
