Seafarer 226 Bennett trim tab size

Want to add trim tabs this year while the boat is out of the water this year. Looking for recommendations on what trim tab size to go with. Going to go with Bennett classic hydraulic style.

Bennett recommends 24x9 I believe.

Span is more important than chord. Go with the largest span you can comfortably fit there. Does the size that Bennett recommended physically fit?

Yes, 24x9 would fit. Seams larger than what I need however.

"As a general rule for boats with max speeds of 40MPH, choose at least one inch of trim tab span (per side) for every foot of boat length. For example, a 22′ boat would use a 24”x9”." This was found under Bennetts general guidelines https://bennetttrimtabs.com/guide-to-trim-tabs/

Do you need 24"? No. You would have nice results with a 12" span. But it can ONLY help to have bigger ones.
 
Thanks for the link, I am a firm believer in bigger is better with trim tabs, but there are other considerations, and I don’t think there’s a boat manufacturer out there who follows that rule of thumb, maybe just because of cost. I don’t know how many actuators the 24 inch tab requires, but I wouldn’t go any larger than one actuator will accommodate. I know that you can use 18 inch with one actuator.
You also want to consider what else you might want to attach to the transom, such as transducers, etc., without getting too close to the center line of the boat, and too close to the prop.

I just installed 12 x 12 Bennett trim tabs on my seafarer and they work well one thing I have been told if you leave your boat in the water use hydraulic if you have a boat on the trailer use electric
