shoot thru hull transducer for 222 ?

I bought a 222 fisherman and am thinking about installing a Lowrance's shoot thru hull transducer at transom next to where
the bilge pump is located. Has any body done this before ? Is this recommended by GW factory ? If so, how to installe it properly? Thank you for any advice !

If you call Grady Customer Service they will tell you exactly where to mount in the boat. On my Tournament 225 they told me to place it by the fresh water tank. I ended up with a transom mount and it works fine.

Whatever you do, test fit it first. Know for certain you have no bubble issues, and the bilge pump doesn't create electrical interferance before you stick it down. I always use silicone seal to mount a transducer to the hull. Works well, and can be more easily removed than epoxy when time to replace it. And for heaven's sake, don't even think about 5200! :wink:
