I left my house in Poquoson Virginia at 0400 hrs and trailered my jet ski to the outer banks of North Carolina. I dropped in at a small ramp at the Southern tip of Roanoke Island in Wanchese around 0700 and headed out of Oregon Inlet along with at least a hundred other boats. I ended up fishing about 5 miles North of the Inlet, 2 miles offshore in 50-70 feet of water.
It was a phenominal day! I caught at least 14 Striped Bass trolling one rod with a 28oz Mojo and Tomic trailing on a three way swivel. Three times I had doubles with 25lb fish. Sea conditions were awesome with light SW winds.
I heard the bite was even better around the Wright Memorial but why leave when your steady catching. Made it back to the ramp at 1130 hrs and home by 1500. Today I only covered 26 miles and burned 6 gallons. Can't wait to do it again. Here are some pictures from today;
