Hello. I have a 1986 Seafarer 22ft (new to me this summer), and am interested in replacing the original switch panel located adjacent to the helm for all of the toggle switches/fuses. I've found several folks who will fabricate the new switch plate (along with the switches and bus bars). However, I'm wondering from the experience of others if this is really a "plug and play" project once the new switch plate is fabricated........or if it is the typical project which "grows" once you start it! Thanks.

I'm doing this also, just get the same layout as you have so all wiring will line up right and mark all wire before you remove them. This will also be a great time to straighten out the spagetti if yours is like my wiring. All the years of maint. and it is a mess. Good time to clean your connections heat shrink etc.

Just have some patience and all will work out.
