Im looking to put one swivel rod holder in each gunwale for tuna fishing. I have heard stories of other boats having problems with cracking etc. from the stress of fighting a fish from these type of holders. the gunwales of the 265 seem stout enough but I thought Id ask. My max drag when fighting fish is a bout 50LBS on a 6-7' Tuna stick with a bent but. Anyone think this is to much stress ??

I added a Lee Heavy-Duty, Extra Long, Swivel Base, 30-degree holder on the starboard gunwale, between the two factory holders. We use it for a custom, long bent butt planer rod. We run #12 and #16 planers and use 44# of drag to hold the larger planer. No issues with the rod holder or the gunwale. I strongly recommend you get the backing plates made by Lee, and through-bolt the rod holder.

Installed a Lee Heavy-Duty, Standard Length, non-swivel base, 30-degree holder on the port side, just to keep it balanced and to have another holder. Used a backing plate there as well.
