I just bought a new Marlin with top mounted outriggers. What is recommended to keep the outriggers looking like new? The lit that came with the outriggers just denotes "polish".

Just rinse them down after each trip. No need to polish.

I agree wash them every trip out, used or not....but I also put on a coat of woody's every couple of months. I actually attempt to to the T-top, bow rail, anything metal. It takes some time, but gives the Aluminum a nice shine after its done. But, note it doesn't last very long thus the repeat process. If you don't like Woody's there are plenty of other choices, I think GW gives you some with a new boat purchase (starts with Z, just can't recall the name) and I use that also, does about the same. Overall, a good cleaning after using is the most important aspect to long life......

You have to wash them after every trip to keep the salt off regardless of what you put on them.

I use Rupp's Alumiguard. More of an oil than a wax. Doesn't last long either.
