The old navy blue t-top on my Chase had seen better days and even though the tape keeping it together was holding strong, it was time for a new top. also, i hated the wind pattern from the factory windshield. it would go over the windshield, hit the overhead box, and come down my face in a very turbulent manner. it was very unpleasant and i would often stand of to the side to get "clean" air flow. in addition, the 25 year old windshield was losing clarity, both on the surface and internally. headlight restoration kits were not cutting it. It may not bother some people, but im a bit picky about stuff like that. and, i didnt like the tint in the windshield.
I dropped it off at my local canvas shop (Canvas Plus in North East Maryland) for a new top, wrap around windshield, and side curtains. it came out great. i even had him put a vent above the windshield so i can get some air flow through. the vent can be closed when needed.
I absolutely love how it came out. it is SOOOO much more pleasant running the boat like this. I get the perfect amount of breeze and it is so much quieter. i can hear much more detail in the sound of the motors or the water breaking off the hull. I havent used the side curtains yet, but i should get good protection from them when needed.
