I have a bronze thru hull xducer mounted in the factory flattened out starboard spot, but would like to add another xducer for my newly acquired Furuno 582L (got a sweet deal).

I was considering the M260 1000W hi-perf. in-hull unit but just can't find the space for the "large" unit in the bilge.

Has anyone tried Airmar's B60-20 tilted or B260-20 tilted?
if so what location?

thx.

any one with a 282 transducer thru hull or in-hull other than installed in the "factory starboard location"?

I considered putting one in my boat. Although it looks tight, it looks like it will just fit on the port side. The problem is access. You'd have to be a 7 foot stringbean to reach in there

Is there room under the center berth access? There is a floor under there; seems made for storage. Behind the removable aft panel is access to the hydraulic steering reservoir and fresh water tank. You can see the bilge under the tank.

So it seems reasonable that if you cut an opening in the storage compartment's fllse floor, you would have access to the bilge where a 260 could be installed.

Might be worth a look.

I have the B60-20 in an older hull. It gives good readings plus if you trailer it you don't have to worry about the transdeucer getting in the way. The B260 wasn't out when I got the B60.

I have an A27 -plastic housing

mounted about 2' forward of the transom dead center on my 1989 252g. Its wired to a raymarine dsm 300/c80 display. I read bottom and fish accurately at speed.

Thx Grog, do you keep bottom readings a cruise with the B60 or do you have to slow down?
