Transom Door repair

Transom door began to crack and blister this winter. Took it to local fiberglass shop again as I had had it done last year so was surprised / disappointed that it happened again. Last year just gel coat. This time all removed and found wet core. Here are some before during and after shots. If interested in viewing the repair it is all on you tube titled “tuna door repair #1 ( thru 13). This is a 1996 Sailfish.

If wet it likely goes through a number of freeze cycles. The only way to do it is to cut it to expose all the internals and redo. Look into a lightweight composite that doesn't absorb water as a core and then reglass it.
