Transom Mount ducer on Marlin

Anybody ever run a transom mount chirp transducer on their Marlin. I have one as a secondary unit and would like to rig it.

I know thru hulls are better ... Any feedback would be appreciated. I just bought a discontinued Garmin 9 inch for 499.00 ! at Tackle direct.

Have you considered a shoot through ducer? Should be able to mount inside the hull with no holes being drilled.
