Trim Tab Size on 25 Trophy?

Before recoring my transom I measured my tabs and believe they were 12 x 18. (I scrapped them as they were shot). Can I go with a smaller tab like 9 x 18 or should I stay with the original size?

Be carefull with trim tab size, you can get into a lot of trouble if they are misused.

More so the bigger they get - say you have them trimmed all the way down into a heavy head sea at off planning speeds to lower the bow/lift the stern, and you come about to run with the seas, you'd better not forget to pull them up - the bigger the following seas and tabs, the worst you will be off.

Bigger is better, but demands more respect and attention to proper use.
