Trim Tabs not Working

that happened to me a few years back and the shop said a fuse had blown. Though I never knew where that fuse was....they fixed for me.

My 19 year old Bennett Trim Tabs stoppped working last year too. Changed the fuse and it began to work well again. However, at the end of last year's boating season, both tabs would only go down, but not go back up. Diagonosed the problem to be the "quick disconnect" plug for the tab pump unit, which had some surface corrosion. Called Bennett, who sent me a complimentary replacement quick disconnect plug with butt connectors already attached. My tabs are working great again. Now that's customer service!

I would start with the electric. Check that you have power each step of the way, finally at the motor when the switch is pressed. it is far more likely, as the other posts pointed out, that it is a fuse or connection then anything else. Electric almost always goes bad at teh connecting points. Very rarely in the middle of a run - thank god...
