Hey working on a few more fix it items on boat. The trim tabs when extended seem to go back all on there own. When i push my bow down it will hold for a few minutes working its way back to the bow being all the way up. Assuming the hydraulics are shot?? I have hot water but no cold looked for a shut off valve but cannot not find one. Does anyone know where the hot water heater is hidden. Thanks

Bennet or boat levelers? Some boats come rigged with (can't think of the name) where the tabs retract automatically, but I think that is when you turn the ignition off. I could be wrong, not entirely sure how it works. Could be an issue with that, or either a check valve in the pump is shot or there is a leak in one of the lines.

If I were you I would operate the tab while the boat is docked and check for leaks externally outside the boat and inside the boat (hoses etc). Then put the tab all the way down. Locate the pump and with the tab all the way down, try and listen for fluid making its way through the pump without you operating it.

If all this checks out, you may also have a faulty switch that may be sticking.

As for the hot water and no cold, that is pretty odd. Where are you not getting cold water? Galley sink? If the hot water heater is filling up, you should have cold water unless it is plugged off for whatever reason. My guess is the heater is either located in the front v-berth somewhere or in the mid cabin area.

The valve seats are either fouled or damaged allowing the fluid to bypass back into the reservoir. If it is a Bennett system send me your name and address Tabmanhelp@gmail.com and I will be delighted to send you new ones and instructions how to change them, no charge.

Thanks for the help. Going back down to the coast on the 27th for the week. My daughters and their friends will be using the boat to sleep in. So pulling it out will not be a option for a couple of weeks. Do plan on heading out to the gulf weather permiting. The boat is 23 years old things do wear out. The cold water is a mystery there is no cold in the bathroom sink or sink in cabin but most importantly the sink in the back has no water. Took the tackle box behind the drivers seat apart nothing good there. Thinking it might be under the passenger seat floor, accessed underneath in the sleeping quarters?? The previous owner had used Garmin so it was an easy switch with my electronics. The Radar is a bit of a mystery to me thew. Will need to recruit help it is before my time. We took the boat out 50 miles on monday caught a few nice dolphin. Nice ride.

The valve seats are in the pump which is located inside the boat and can changed with the boat in the water. So send me your name and address and I will be delighted send them to you. Tabmanhelp@gmail.com
