We want to tow the Boston Whaler15 behind a Grady for a two week trip into Desolation Sound - leave the big boat on anchor and use the Whaler as a pick up truck to travel back and forth to Lund and the Laughing Oyster for meals.

Has anyone used the front SS rails to hang "Taylor" style fenders (where the line threads through the fender) horizontally to act as cushioning like the RIBs that are so popular as dinghies these days?

Any suggestions as to the correct size or any pics that could help me to configure the Whaler for this adventure?

All I do is have bumpers tied to the side of my big boat for loading/unloading of materials. Once unloaded I just tie a single line from the bow of the whaler to the stern of the big boat about 15-20' off.
I do have a slight advantage since I have a full platform that makes getting to the whaler easy.
