Here is a tough one I hope can be answered. I have a 2000 Marlin. I believe the windlass is an original H 600ff. The motor seems to work properly in both directions the gypsy is labeled 761 but there is no Fleming. Is the Fleming required on this model.? It doesn’t seem to catch when returning the line in. The picture in the manual for the 761 Gypsy Does not show a Fleming?

Seasick thanks but maybe I wasn’t clear the picture in the manual for the 761 Gypsy does not show a Fleming in place does that particular gypsy not use one?

If it works properly (which it sounds like it does because you said it doesn't get hung up) and the parts diagram doesn't show it... I think you've answered your own question :)
