definitely good news that salmon stocks are heathier.
just recently, I shared at long range fishing trip out of san diego into mexico with a charter operator out of the Bay area and when we pulled back into port he checked the reports for opening day and it was not good.
He said approx 80 anglers that went out in big nasty sea conditions which saw 15-18' swell and waves and got about 20 fish.
Unfortunately in these conditions, one boat lost power, got sideways, turtled and the captain died (not sure about any others on board and status).
love fishin, but gotta respect nature and be prepared.
