Boat isn't shifting into gear. It was stiff last year and I noticed on of the cables was cracked. This year it won't budge.
Turns out the cracked cable still moves fine when in neutral. I disconnected the shifter cable and I still can't move the control.
Next up was to remove the control to see if it is that or the cable. Obviously with the cracked cable they need to be replaced anyways.
There are 2 bolts/nuts on the front and 2 screws on the rear of the control holding it in place.
I remove the nuts but still can't budge the bolts. I've hit them from above and below and still nothing. Also can't turn the 2 screws.
Is there something I'm missing? It looks straight forward and basic but maybe I'm not seeing something.
Anyone else have these issues? or have some hints?
