Bought my 180 used and though it came with a new battery, it was just sitting in the starboard rear compartment. There must be a factory "hold down" for the battery, anyone have a picture so I can see how it's done?

thanks,

Rob

OK, thank you. I assume the just screw down to the shelf and I should seal screws with 5200?

Is a second battery advised for an 18'?. The switch is already there.

4200 or LifeSeal silicone, no need for 5200. If switch is there and you have the room, I'd add the second battery. Nice to have a backup, just in case.

Am I not seeing something? Where are the heavier gauge positive connections?

Yes, definitely seal the mount points and make sure you can drill and mount to the area. You should be able, but always good to check twice and drill once!

Trolling motor batteries you're looking at. Main cranking batteries are on the other side.
I kind of suspected that but wondered if the ground cables are larger than they need to be. I probably would have used the large gauge grounds also, especially if I had thoughts about jumping batteries if the manins ran down.
