Post a picture in three months so that we can judge how the treatment holds up to the elements.

The pictures are not working for me, it’s my internet not the pics.
Explain what you did to them ?
i have tried the acetone and not very impressed or I need to keep applying it it’s a lot work for minimal gains

The acetone does not work well if the rail is damp even a little bit. It has to be absolutely dry and you have to change the rags often or you will just dissolve the crud and spread it around in a different section.
If your rail is too far gone, the acetone won't help and I suspect the compound may not either but it's probably worth a try
 
Ha that’s my retired fathers boat who has the time to compound his rub rail. Takes a long time but comes up great and jealous.
 
Then you finish it off with Mop N Glo Marine . The Mop N Glo last for a few weeks and it's does work to protect the rubber from some UV damage and general oxidation. There is no such thing as Mop n Glo Marine . I just took a sharpie and wrote Marine on the bottle . it makes me feel special .

You are also required to double the price when you put Marine on it.

No, tripple! I got a good laugh on the writing the word Marine on the bottle especially after readin the earlier post and saying to myself " I don't remember ever seeing Marine Mop N Glo
 
They look good. I sue Amor All on mine and it last about a month. It is a 10 minute application. Let us know if you method last all summer
