How to replace port/red bulb in pop-up bow light?

I have a 2011 Freedom 307. My port (red) light in my bow light is not operating. I'm guessing the bulb just needs replaced. (Starboard/green works just fine) I took a look at it the other day, and don't know how to open up the bow light to get in and try a new bulb. Does anyone know how to go in and replace one? I tried to unscrew the unit, but it wouldn't really budge, and I didn't want to force anything.

Here is a sample pic , but is definitely not the kind my boat has. This just represents the screws on the base bow light plate.

It would help to see the actual thing you have, but when you say "tried to unscrew the unit"... do you mean "removed the attachment screws"? The former way sounds like you grabbed a hold of the unit and tried to unscrew "it".

Assuming it's the latter, it's just stuck down with sealant. Gently rock it or pry it up with a plastic blade.

Thanks. Yes, I unscrewed the three screws which are attaching it to the boat. I just remembered that I got a picture of it. And am attaching it here in hopes that helps see what it looks like. In this picture, you can see I've removed the screws from the "unit".

Hmmm. Interesting. Sealant is definitely holding the plate on... but I've never seen that style before -- what is that "button" looking thing on the top? That doesn't depress to release the SS cover plate, does it?

But... that looks like an LED fixture. There typically is not a bulb - you replace the entire fixture.

That little button/lever is what releases the light to pop up, and that keeps it locked down.
 
Thanks all. Very helpful to see it's not just a simple bulb replacement. I'll probably call Grady just to confirm on the part, and then replace it.

I think it was this one i had on the Venture 34 and it corroded always so finally i cut a plate to cover the hole and mounted a normal flush-mount bowlight on the plate.
However, long term project was to move that light on a higher location on the T-Top where its more protected.

Use the drop down menu on the right, to see if you have the old or the new unit. Old is discontinued, new is only $32.69.

You absolutely nailed what I needed. I talked to GW today and got the model number. It is an Accon Marine unit. That's the good news. The bad news is my bow light is discontinued, so I can't just get the replacement parts. I need to buy a new unit. Oh well, at least I now have the answer. Thanks again!
 
The one I referenced is listed as available from Boat Outfitters. The bad news is that it is $250!
