Yamaha square Command link 6y8

For a 2006 Yamaha F150 can I convert the command link square gauge 6y8 to the newer 6yC ?? If yes, can I just have one display for both engines ??
 
The simple answer is no. Yours are command link and the 6YC are command link plus. However, you can use many of the different brand GPS MFD’s to display both engines via a Nema 2000 network.

The new 6YC Information Station is used with Command Link® and Command Link Plus® applications, and with up to two outboards. This saves console space while giving the operator more information in a an easier-to-understand format. The color display is easy to read and provides detailed boat information, vital outboard system information, even environmental information; and displays it in multiple operator-selectable ways.

  • Track engine RPM, fuel levels (up to two tanks), fuel burn, fuel economy, engine water pressure, surface water temperature and more, all in once customizable gauge.
  • High definition, high contrast color with three easy-to-choose, operator-selectable color/background configurations - day, night, and carbon fiber.
  • Non-glare flat black surface.
  • Operator-selectable bar graphs for vital engine systems like engine temperature, oil pressure, and battery voltage levels.
  • Recording of trip distance and engine hours.
  • Compact size - At approximately 6.5" the 6YC Information Station replaces up to three Command Link gauges and is narrower than the Command Link Plus display.

I guess I was wrong! I had been told it would not work. Would be interested in the final install! Thanks for the correction
