I have a pair of 2003 Yamaha F115s. I took the boat out today and the starboard tach just reads zero. Tomorrow I'm going to dig into it and was wondering if someone on GG might know where the signal wire is under the cowl and what color it is. That would give me a place to start. I have the standard round gauges and the zero that shows when you turn on the key is all I get. Any help or hints is appreciated.

the tach send terminal can be checked using the AC meter function and a known good ground.
dark green is tach send,yellow is key on 12V and black is ground if the wireing harness is still yamaha.
tach send is generated by the ECU.
Also note that there are switches on the gauges that need to be set for the correct number of poles and engine type. You may want to note the settings and then flip the switches a few times in case the contacts are 'dirty' Settings are in the gauge manual.

OK, thanks seasick. I didn't get a chance to dig into it this morning. I got sidelined by a honey-do list, and a ballgame I want to watch is fouling up the afternoon. Tomorrow I will try again. This is the gauge....
