2003 228 seafarer Yamaha 225 obtained after a hurricane in 2020 only had 195 hours on the motor. Had to do some repairs but back on the water and have added 100+ hours to the motor since. Located in the panhandle of Florida. Named the Interloper.

1987 tournament 19 repowered 2000 mercury 200 EFI. Just completed rewire of entire boat. Lower unit trolling motor is ideal. I’m in Minnesota so I really enjoy it 5 months a year.

We have a 2002 Gulfstream that we purchased in August of 2021. We repowered in 2023 with new 4 stroke 150 Yamahas. The boat handles sea conditions very well and we sail from from Point Judith RI. Her name is Current $ea.

That's a great location! How comfortable to go offshore in the Gulfstream? Block Island? East End of Long Island? Nantucket? Curious because it's not too far but you hear how dicey the changing conditions can be -- head out calm in the morning and then could be whipped up by the afternoon. Or is that unpredictability exaggerated?

“2006 360 Express, repowered with Yamaha triple 250s - yea I know - You should have put 300s or 350s on her”….Nope - insurance won’t cover because of engine mak plate and Grady engineer explicitly told me not to because of the larger engine weight on transom design. 2008 and beyond can hold the larger engines. Plus the minimal extra speed and higher fuel burn isn’t attractive to me.

Fish out of Cape May Inlet. Inshore and offshore reefs, 30 line to the canyons to troll and deep drop sword and bottom fishing. And Delaware Bay for spring Black Drum. Great rig. Reliable. Handles rough seas well.

My first post here. I own a 2000 Adventure 208.
Purchased it last year from original owner with 146 hours on the 2019 Yamaha 200. Yard maintained but it’s somewhat weathered above the rub rails and helm. I’m thinking about doing some restoration and would appreciate any information from members who’ve done a similar project, and especially any sources for EOM and quality aftermarket parts. Thanks!

Good looking boat... I bought a 2004 Grady White 228 Seafarer with a 2004 Yamaha F225 back in Maryland in October of 2021 that had just under 1k hours on her at the time of purchase. Flew out from Seattle, looked at the boat, put an offer down on her, took her for a sea trial run, rented a U-Haul truck and then trailered her back the 3,009 miles to just north of Seattle where I live. That was the third time I'd done a cross country road trip for a boat over a 4 year period, the first was round trip, the second two were one way treks.

Our boat is a 2013 226 Seafarer with a 250 Yammie. Docked on the Nantucket Sound side of Cape Cod. Boat was a private sale 5 years ago from an owner who took real good care of the boat. Had about 300 hrs, now got 600 and change. Nice boat. If I could wave a magic wand things I would change: The walk ways are sort of useless. Too tight. Might be better without them? The seats with the arm rests are too close together. I think I have seen that complaint before. Not a real big deal but annoying. The fold down transom door? is annoying. Haven't snapped the brackets, yet. Those items are pretty picky and overall this is a fine boat.

I've got a 228 Seafarer, and yes the walkaround portion of the boat is pretty narrow on each side. The hardtop is great as it has a grab rail and multiple different locations you can hold onto when walking and feel much safer while doing so. I imagine that's not likely the case for you with the Bimini top though. I've got a picture on my phone that I'll add on here, but yes the arm rests are much too close together and to where I cut off the inside arm rests on each chair to allow for more room moving back and forth from the helm to the stern of the boat. Definitely changed up the mobility of being able to walk around the boat, making it much easier, as I'd always snag my t shirt or sweatshirt on the arm rests when walking back and forth. I bought a 228 Seafarer for a multitude of reasons but one of them was that yeah... I wasn't thrilled with the idea of the fold down transom door on the back and would much rather have the fully enclosed transom instead. That and the 226 Seafarer has the bang cap/plate on the back, which has been known to be problematic before in the past. Good luck with the boat.
