I have a new 2025 Grady Adventure 218. The seats seem to rub on the side of the boat and will not rotate fully around unless I put my muscle into it. See picture. Does anyone else have this issue? Any solutions?

Thank you for the reply. Yes it does. It rubs the side no matter whether I slide it forward or backward.

I understand that the helm seats that came with the boat are made by LleBroc and I contacted them and they told me that the seats were pretty wide (also the arm cushions are fixed and do not go down).

I also found out that there are other seats made for Grady by Pompano which are not as wide and have arms that retract that might work, but I don't want to invest in them unless I know for sure they fit properly.

So what you pictured is with the seat slid forward as far as possible?

Did you try rotating the seat CCW? That might at least get the seat facing straight back.

Check the slider/spider assembly on the bottom of the seat - sometimes you can reposition the seat (moving it to different holes).

Same issue with the seats on my 208. If I want to spin them around to face backwards, they have to be spun with the chair backs inward... i.e port side chair spins CCW, starboard side chair spins clockwise. I cannot sit in the chair and spin it from forward facing to rear facing.

And, to add... this is not an uncommon thing for any boat. Seats are pushed outwards during installation to allow for maximum room between the seats yet still allow them to spin. If they spun easily in any direction without having to slide them, then people would complain that there's not enough walking room between the seats. :) :)

Boats are often all about trade-offs - even more so in smaller ones.

Thank you again, Dennis. I do agree that all boats have tradeoffs and agree that even if there was a mechanism to move the seat from side to side, there would be no room to get to the front cabin. I am 6 foot 5 to complicate things even more. As it is, I had to remove the arms of the chair so I don't have to "sqeeze" by them to get into the cabin. I didn't have this problem at all with my old Proline using the old plastic style seats. I just thought this Grady was an upgrade for me and now I am thinking about replacing the current seats with the old plastic style so the seating is functional. I am not that fancy a person. Oh well.....

One doesn't worry about scratching cheap plastic seats, either :)

Are you at the boat to try what I mentioned above about CCW?
