I was hoping for some positive feedback on an issue I'm having with my NMEA 2000 Network. I just installed and connected to the network a new Garmin Echomap UHD2 74sv and a Uniden UM725GBT Marine VHF Radio. My Suzuki SMG4 Display is also connected to the network, but when I boot everything up, the Garmin can't see the other devices. It's a new Network also, powered by 12 volts dc. Any suggestions?

A bad drop can cause all drops to be bad ( no communications). Try breaking down the network into small sections of say one device at a time and see if you have any communications. Of course it is important to always have the power drop connected. Don't fotget to add terminators on the ends of the network

Possibly you need a NMEA2k Isolation power connection or you have the Garmin on the wrong side of the one you have.

The isolator allows the Zuke side to get power from key (so gauges are NOT powered when the key is off) and then you have another power connection on the other side for everything else (so it works when the key is off)

I can't help you any more than that without seeing your connections.

There is a post here where I explained it all with pictures for someone else but I can't find it.

thank you. I did not know if one drop is bad, they all go bad. Turned out to be blown fuse in the Network Power Supply.

To be totally honest, Not all 'bad' drops will kill the network. When the tap or the connected equipment corrupts or shorts a data lead on the drop, all devices will be effected.
