Does anybody have experience removing their 330 Express hot water heater? Mine is 2014, and I can easily see where the unit is. I opened the starboard wall below from the aft sleeping bunk area and from above at the starboard hatch under the folding seat. But I don't see how it's fastened in place. Nothing from below and only a few screws with metal plate at the bottom front that don't seem to loosen the heater. I can see that the water lines need to be detached, but haven't figured out how to get the actual heater unit out and don't want to tear everything apart before I know. Any suggestions?

Have you figured this out yet - I may need to replace one this off-season

Try this....

Look at Defender for a model close to yours. Looks to me like you have to take the cover off and mounting is inside the base.

I just removed one that looks exactly like it. Mine was a 6 gallon unit. Just disconnected the water lines and capped. Disconnected the power line and repurposed. The mounting was simply the 4 screws that it looks like you already removed and you pull it towards those screws. The back is a tab that slides under a bracket that is screwed down. No tools in the back.

Look at the response from Diad on 10/9/2026. It describes the unit removal really well. The access is improved on the 330 Express by taking out the storage hatches at the helm step and under the starboard live well. With those storage inserts removed, you have full access to the backside of the water heater if needed.
