    New to Forum- considering GW

I've got a 1994 tournament 192 that I bought in Vancouver, BC a little over a year ago. It had the original 175 evinrude on it at the time and I replaced it with a used 2000 200hp yamaha ox66 with less than 500 hrs on it. I couldn't be happier with the set up. The hull is a little older...

    New Voltmeter

I've got a 94 Tournament 192 with a dead voltmeter. When I repowered the boat I was told the guage needed replacing but I thought it would be a simple enough job to tackle myself. Hopefully its just a matter of putting in a new gauge and connecting up the existing wiring. Any tips or pitfalls...

    Help! Choosing Between Boats

I had an evinrude 175 on my tournament. Blew the power head within a month of buying the boat. Estimate to complete the repairs was over $10,000 (more was required than replacing the powerhead). I Picked up a used 2001 Yamaha 0x66 200hp with under 500 hrs from a friend of a friend that...

    Scuppers below water line

You can buy replacement scupper flaps from any grady dealer but the generic ones you can buy at just about any marine supply store work fine. I picked up a pair of new ones for my 94 Tournament 192 at West Marine 2 weeks ago and they fit perfectly. Installed in 10 minutes and cost about $20...

    Replacement Horn Cover

Trying to track down a replacement horn cover for my 1994 Tournament 192. I called my local Grady dealer (Capstan Marine in Richmond, BC) and they said I would have to buy a whole new horn assembly. Capstan's service department has proven themselves to be completely useless in the past so I am...

    Stain removal from gel coat

Over the years my hull has developed some staining around the water line especially near the stern. The affected areas are tinted a little brown and I would really like to clean them up and get the hull looking new again. There are also some grey marks on the hull where the boat has rubbed up...

    Vasoline on the hull?

Heard from a retired commercial fisherman that spreading a thin coat of petroleum jelly on the hull was a good trick to prevent anything from growing on the hull during the season. Can't imagine how much vasoline this would take but I'm curious whether you guys think there is any merrit to this...

    De-Winterizing

Thanks for the input. Just being over cautious with the new motor. Having my old 175 Evinrude blow up on me last year was a serious kick in the wallet I want to avoid at all costs this season!

    De-Winterizing

I repowered last year with a lightly used 2000 Yamaha 200 HP 0X66 Saltwater series outboard. The mechanic at my marina is trained on Mecury's. He winterized the engine fore me and the boat has been in dry storage for the winter. I am concerned about his ability to find and solve any...
