300hpdi hey bigfish over here we have had lots or problems with thw 250 and 300 hpdi motors. Seems to be always no2 or 4 cylinders that fail and nearly always a lack of oil problem. Yamaha has a revised oil pump for that model, but after doing the mods my customers nearly always got around...

hey guys, have just sold a 205 tournament and the customer has asked me if and where he can fit a thru hull transducer to this model. Grady site reccomends transom mount. but the owner has his heart on a thru hull. any help would be appreciated....... andy

hot, the blade direction wont matter, the blades are really flexible and as soon as you start the motor they will rotate clockwise. are you running the motor on a flusher or in the water? if on a flusher make sure that the cups are sealing around the water intakes completely. i would launch the...

hot, there`s a small spined shaft in front of the driveshaft that has a female hollow shaft coming down from the motor. make sure motor controls and gearbox is in neutral . align both shafts and raise the gearbox put one blt in and try shifting gears. andy

hi from melb, what year are the hpdi`s? the early ones had a problem with oiling up. you might want to check the o2 sesor on the block. it has a small piston that carbons up from time to time. .... andy

hey guys, mercury here in aus, sold f225`s rebadged and painted black. we did interchange some gearbox`s mainly due to cost and availability problems. good thing for us is that merc has just offloaded a heap of parts for this model and we snapped tham up.
