    Understanding Battery Charging

I use a Pulse Tech Xtreme 2 bank charger on my 2008 Tournamnet 225 when the boat is sitting. Believe it or not I am still on my original Deka batteries and my boat was one of the first 2008s built in Oct 2007. This is the best charger I have ever used and their pulse technology keeps the plates...

    My current experience with Raymarine

I had the same experience with Lowrance in 2008 when I bought my LCX 38C HD. It was given an award from NMEA in 2007 and was obsolete in 2009. Lowrance has not supported the software for years. The only good news in I can insert updated charts on SD/MMc cards. Technology is changing so quickly...

    ski Pylon, who has one?

I also have one on my 2008 Tournament 225. On my boat the pylon is mounted on the swim platform aft of the transom because my engine is on a Gill bracket as are all the 225s. It doesn't rub the cowling on my F250 Yamaha when the engine is trimmed down in normal operating trim settings. I do know...

    Grady White discontinuing dealers

Bob, I visited Lockwood Marine when they were the GW dealer in Jacksonville while vacationing @ Amelia Island. Very nice folks. Marine Max now has the GW franchise in Jacksonville and Lockwood is no longer a GW dealer. The GW website refers Savannah's zip code to Island Marine in Hilton Head...

    Grady White discontinuing dealers

This is exactly why I'm a big proponent of the factory showroom. No dealer can stock all the models with all the options. Most of us spending this amount of money want what we want. A factory showroom in Greenville where we could see all the models all the time, along with a tour of the factory...

    Grady White discontinuing dealers

I guess next time I'll have to go to Mid Carolina Marine in Columbia, SC or Southeastern Marine in Richmond, VA. I shopped both of them when I bought my 225 and they were both very knowledgeable and very friendly. I wonder who will represent GW @ the boat show @ Cedar Point in September. That's...

    Grady White discontinuing dealers

Parthery, I don't understand the reference to upstate New York? Loran, Ohio is still quite a ways away from upstate NY.

    Grady White discontinuing dealers

DBV, I don't think they knew it was coming two weeks ago. I got this straight from Pat Grasso @ Beaver Park last Friday. He seemed very shocked and disappointed. It was definitely a surprise to him. I think it is true because when I go to the GW website dealer locator function and type in my zip...

    Grady White discontinuing dealers

Hey everybody, What is going on at Grady White in Greeneville? My dealer Beaver Park in Lorain, OH just got cancelled and I am now being referred to Drummond Boat Sales in Holland, MI. I've never heard of them and I am actually closer to Detroit than Holland. Is there no longer a dealer in the...

    handling twin outboard motors

Just remember that your props are counter rotating. That means your port prop turns counter clockwise in forward and your starboard prop turns clockwise in forward. With your steering @ a neutral position remember this little hint. To move your bow to port put your starboard engine in forward...

    Fuel Additive Over-kill? Question...

I have used Pri-G and Ring Free religiously every tank for the last three years. No problems with the fuel system. I don't think you need both Star Tron & Pri-G. I'm sure one or the other would be enough.

Yamaha 225 or 250 for GW 225 Tournament?

Ditto to what White Horses said. My 2008 225 has the F250 and according to the Command Link I can get 3.5 - 3.6 MPG @ 4100 RPM when properly trimmed out. The motor has been great except for one dropped ignition coil on the middle cylinder on the right bank but Yamaha replaced it under warranty...

    Profits on new Gradys

I have been told by an insider that Grady sold 1800-1900 boats a year in normal times. The numbers for 2009 were around 450 and 2010 was about the same. I'm sure everyone involved in the process has felt a lot of pain. I am pretty sure that Whaler's cost was 67% of MSRP back in 2002. Not sure...
