Thank you Doc I should have also asked whether a SS prop would do much to improve the performance?

    226 Seafarer Prop

Greeting Fellow GW 226 Owners I have a 2000 GW 226 with a 200 HP Yam HPDI Z200 that is equipped with the original 17 M aluminum prop. Has anyone done the prop evaluation/investigation on this setup to improve cruising performance? Due to my age I am not really interested in going more than 30...

Seafarer 226 with Yamaha 200 HPDI

I have a 2000/226 with Yam 200 HPDI, no bottom paint. At 4100 I am doing 30 +/- mph (GPS) The motor trimmed to 2.0 -2.2 on the trim meter seems to be the sweet spot.

    Oil tank bracket (2000- 226- 200Yam/HPDI)

My oil tank bracket has rusted out and I will want to replace it with a non-rusting solution. The tank itself is OK. Does anyone have experience/suggestions? Thank you.

Has anyone found a replacement new style lighted rocker switch that fits into the hole of the oval switch that was used by GW around 2000? Here is a picture of my 12 hole panel, its on a 2000 226. Thanks for your...

    Replacing horn on 2003 228

Replacement went fine. The old connectors were in good shape so I left them and added a second set using the old horn's wires snipped near the terminals. Staggering the position of the new butts helped so that I only had to feed one at a time through the hole. Before the final connections I hand...

    Replacing horn on 2003 228

I am getting ready to replace the mini horns on my 226. The new one arrived yesterday. I've already done the multi meter and determined that switch works and there is power from the switch. Therefore the existing wires should be okay. It would have been nice if the terminals on the old horn were...

    New Batteries, Seafarer 226

I have been doing research on batteries for a Seafarer powered with a Yam 200 HP HPDI. The minimum battery requirements for this motor are 675.0 Marine Cranking Amps and 182 Minutes of Reserve Capacity (Owners Manuel). The Reserve Capacity is especially important in this particular motor...

Yamaha 150 HP - battery voltage light blinking on speed gauge (192 Tournament)

Not saying this is your problem, but the coindence of new batteries and a new problem struck me as curious. Before I bought my Seafarer with a 200 HPDI my mechanic stressed the importance of having batteries that meet the engine's minimum requirement of CA 675 and especially the Reserve Capacity...
