    232 Gulfstream being discontinued

Makes me wonder how the 218 is selling. Was there really a need for a 218, or was it an experiment to test the market for updated WAs? For my use case, the 270 still checks more boxes than anything else out there in this size class. A Worldcat DC comes close, but not at that price point for...

Pictures of my 2005 GW Marlin 300 Transom repair

Reviewing these photos reinforces my theory that the GW transom sealing method was outsourced to the Kindergarteners of Greenville, NC. While respectable for an hours worth of "arts and crafts" time, it comes up a bit short for a premium boat builder. By chance did you find any evidence of...

    268 Islander twin power.

Someone in THT had a smoking deal on twin df200aps out of NJ. $17k I believe.

20 year old varnish in tank 208

Looks like everyone has provided great advice. When I went through this on my boat, I used a harbor freight battery syphon pump that would reach to the bottom of the tank. In my case all of the crud/sludge and water settled to the bottom near the pick-up. I was able to selectively suck out the...

    Bimini help

Maybe try a rigid strut in the rear instead of a strap. You will need to replace some parts, but at least that way you can stand it up in the back and put the boot over it. I assume you might be smaller in stature. I'm 6'1" with a good wingspan. For me, I would remove both straps from one side...

What do people use to store stuff that can rust?

Ammo-like plastic boxes are available for cheap at Cabela's, or Amazon in different colors and sizes. They are air tight. I don't have to deal with salt water corrosion, but they do keep things dry.

    Heavy List underway

What prop? If it is a 4 blade and it is mounted too low, the torque from the prop will create a list at speed.

Grady 306/326/336 crashed in jetty in Hamptons Bay

Damn. Such a snowball effect from a bad decision. So many futures impacted.

Grady 306/326/336 crashed in jetty in Hamptons Bay

Rich kid. Probably prescribed drugs by his Dr. to counter the horrors of Affluenza. He'll be free and back at it in a month. Future politician in the making.

    Honda BF350 on Canyon 306

Nice write-up Chris. Thanks for sharing. Great improvement. Too bad about the lowers being in the water, but it looks like this isn't new to you. I'll stop complaining about my $3/gallon fuel prices. :)

Congrats Chris! We need to see photos of the business end of the boat! Are you sure that fuel flow was for both engines?

    Starter help!!

Clean your connections. I've had connections that looked clean enough that I'd bet the farm it wasn't the issue. Cleaned them anyway, and it fired right up. You didn't mention what engine or how old, but it is pretty rare for a late model Japanese starter to quit. Also, how did you verify the...
