    Hairline cracks

New Great Grady Sponsor opportunity? Maybe add it to the Grady transom sticky under maintenance? Sorry, I'm being a little cynical today. This issue reminds me of a movie:

    2000 Adventure 208 is 150 HP enough???

If that's all in not including your trade for a fly-by-wire, you are in the ballpark. For mechanical, that's a little high. Be aware Suzukis can be a little tough to prop. Make sure you have the option in writing to swap props. Our df200aps love Merc Eco Enertias. They don't come cheap, but are...

    2000 Adventure 208 is 150 HP enough???

Not to nitpick on seasick, but if you decide to go that route, I wouldn't test with one person at 150, but consider testing with at least 2x the increased load amount. If it looks close at 150, what will it look like with a nother 1-2 people standing in the back to replicate real world use...

    GW customer service?

Welcome to the future. Pay more, get less. To be less cynical, a lot of people have been on spring break and are still digging out.

    2000 Adventure 208 is 150 HP enough???

Looks like some of the Merc pricing is cooling off from when I shopped. Google shows a df175a for $13800. Boats.net shows a Merc 175 at only $1k-4k more. If you DIY, you don't need a dealer for a Zuke. The 4 cylinders rarely break. Merc is hit or miss.

    2000 Adventure 208 is 150 HP enough???

Yes, the Mercs are 50 lbs lighter but will lighten your wallet by at least $5k more. If $ is not a concern, Merc would be the only 6 cylinder worth considering. Word is a Suzuki 175 isn't far off from the 200 when it comes to power. The lower gear ratio pushes heavy boats out of the hole more...

    2000 Adventure 208 is 150 HP enough???

A Suzuki df175 is only $1k higher than the df150. You get pinched on the df200 at +$3k. Go with the mechanical df175. The weight is right, priced right, and geared for your type of boat. Sips fuel and is bulletproof!

    prop shaft seal

In engineering, that's called the "Development Phase." ;)

    prop shaft seal

The marketing minds behind the "hack method" aren't doing themselves any favors with the name they gave to process. The method is perfectly acceptable and a much faster, safer way to go in the long run on an old, corroded, lower unit - IMO. The biggest risk is scratching the drive shaft, but it...

    Reminder to turn off batteries

I've wondered about this for years and finally decided to see if there is a tech solution that exists. One I'm considering is Naplarm. I think the original intent was to allow for people who travel by mas transit to nap until they reach a destination. However, it also looks like you can set...

Is it time for a Grady transom "sticky"?

You should expect this to happen right after Yamaha admits charging customers too much for parts.

Is it time for a Grady transom "sticky"?

I get your point, but would argue it has hurt sales. However it hasn't hurt sales for new boats enough for them to make a change. For the used market it is a different story.

Is it time for a Grady transom "sticky"?

One would think the short sighted decision on the transom build process would haunt the brand, but considering they couldn't build them fast enough over the past 6 years would certainly discredit that point. Sorry to see your experience, but considering you still have it tells me you found...

Is it time for a Grady transom "sticky"?

No ill intent by this proposal, but is it time for a Grady transom sticky? Or "What to look for when buying an older Grady"? Seems like we have on average 2 threads a week on this subject. Not that I want to hide anything, but it isn't helping the brand or our resale. It would be similar to...

    Transom Transducer Mounting Location

I'm not sure if the brand is the same, but I got the same or similar from my local Cabela's service center. They had them in white. 2 years and still holding the same ducer as Stang. I mounted mine nose slightly down to account for hull running angle. Gives me depth readings at cruise without...

    Motorwell drains

I had a hell of a time getting the dies to work on the brass. I ended up needing a hammer and punch to finish them.

    Motorwell drains

I'm sure I'm the exception, but the 2 piece wouldn't work for me. Drain holes were not drilled straight. I don't think there would have been any way to get them to look right.

    Replace Jabsco Electric Conversion?

Many feel that way about getting 10 years out of one. Mine was original from 2005, but it was almost never used. Flushes/dollar is expensive, but $/year doesn't look so bad. For roughly a "boat buck" you will be flushing in luxury! You can DIY more easily on your boat. You will have way more...

    Replace Jabsco Electric Conversion?

It's not hard to do if you have room, but it is gross. If I hadn't gotten a deal on the electric replacement, I'd go with the manual. The electric is a shitty (pun intended) design. It isn't built to last. For a fraction of the new electric, you can have the manual. It too isn't made to last...
