I called Garelick today and they said they made custom pedestals specifically for GW. I would have to go through a GW dealer to order the same one that I have to replace and it will take 8 weeks to make. It’s not a stock item. So I bought a 12” Garelick fixed post and cut it to 7” the same...

Yes I was thinking about cutting an 18” too. I’m going to call GW and Garelick today. It looks like the new Marlins are using the one I have but I can’t find it anywhere

I realize this is a very old thread but I’m looking to replace my chair base on my 05 Marlin. I replaced the seat years ago but I was wondering if the Garelick posts are still the best option. I’ve always had the lowest setting on the original post so I believe 18” might be a bit too high...

Has anyone installed one on their walk around? I’m seriously considering one for my Marlin.

I had several cracks in several different areas over the years. GW sent people from the Carolinas(To Long Island) to repair mine. Its a big job and it was explained to me that the headliner had to be removed from the structure so the headliner "Floats" and isn't bonded to anything.

I could feel the resistance while hand tightening the cap

Not sure but I would keep an eye on it. Maybe even braid....The chain would always bind up while tightening and i was always afraid of it breaking and the beads ending up in the tank. One of my chains did break but was lucky enough it broke at the cap..

I was thinking about redoing mine with mono and a large swivel. They dont spin freely the way they used to as they age.

I was wondering if I could get some performance numbers from anyone who switched to a 4 bladed prop. I have 17s 3 blade and heard of better numbers by guys spinning 19s and the 4 blades.Thanks

Same here. I just forwarded some pics to GW and im now waiting for a reply. I had a few cracks repaired a few years back by a local guy named Dennis who did a great job.
