    VHF Anetnna

I snapped the top 6" off my VHF antenna going under a bridge, so I had my local Grady White dealer install a new one. I was thinking they would pull the new antenna wire back to the radio. How they installed the new antenna was to cut the old antenna cable where it comes through the hard top and...

Yamaha 300 HP not full going down

It is not the top trim ram rod, and there is no corrosion, you are seeing algae growth from a month in the brackish river.

Yamaha 300 HP not full going down

Problem resolved. There are two bolts that the lower piston/rams comes in contact with as the motor is being lowered. There should be a bevel on the contact head of these bolts that allows the rams to retract. The original bolts on this year motor had flat heads and the piston/ram would...

    Bottom Paint

New to me Grady 307 with bottom paint. Time to repaint bottom and I am curious what others are using. The paint on the bottom now is Interlux Primocon primer and Interlux Trilux 33 bottom paint. From what I have discovered this paint is primarily for aluminum boats. The boat does have trim tabs...

    GW 258 Journey Reviews

I am quite certain the GW 258 Journey's swim platform/ transom is integrated into the hull where on the 248 Voyager it is not. The Voyager had what was often referred to as a Eurobracket type setup . The two boats from above waterline appear the same.

    Ski Pylon

Hi DennisG01, As you can see from this photo there is a large nut that is welded to the bottom of the plate. The pylon when attached to the boat screws into the plate and this nut. When the pylon is not attached to the boat, there is the bolt hole that leads directly into the bilge /hull. As...

    Ski Pylon

The pylon and base are back from the machine shop. In the photo you can see some galling on the last few threads as well as some galvanic corrosion on the last four or five threads. To summarize my experience, to do over again I would go straight to cutting off the nut, purchasing a new nut and...

    Ski Pylon

I do have an update. The machine shop decided to cut the nut off and re chase the treads on the pylon. During the process the anodized coating on the pylon was removed, presumably by the heat. The machine shop has offered to polish the pylon, not sure how to treat the aluminum pylon after the...
