Tanks for the response. Around Baltimore I've seen Mercury 200 going for 2800 and 225 for 3500 with controls. Going to be shooting for the 225hp.

No head even on body of motor. I took the cover off and just an empty space. Will probably part out what remains.

How about one other quick question. What length motor would I need for 1983 240 offshore? I have seen from 20" to 30" shaft. Thank you for any responses.

That how I got the boat. Mt brother left the ears on the motor while running. Unfortunately he left the motor unattended and the earmuff fell off and blew the motor. I have the motor but wasn't thinking of fixing it since I have access to the four stroke 225 Yamaha.

225hp Suzuki. I know those four strokes can run heavier. I will reach out to Grady White to get original specs to see what the transom can hold. Of course there almost four years on it too.
