    Grady Freedom 285 Instrument Wrap

It's a very thin layer of metal that is flaking. I can glue it back down but I can't seem to fully black out or hide the seams. I am probably not the only Grady owner who has had this problem.

    Grady Freedom 285 Instrument Wrap

My instrument panel is starting to bubble and flake. Is there some sort of wrap I can overlay to avoid having to replace the whole panel for a few small flaking areas? Any other ideas? Thanks.

Passenger Seat 285 Freedom Actuator Issue

Problem solved. Despite protestations to the contrary, the seat guy reinstalled the hinges that attach the top of the seat (seat cushion) to the base in the wrong position. They attached the hinges to the end of the seat rather than reattach them to the underside of the seat roughly six inches...

    Never heard of that. Thanks.

Passenger Seat 285 Freedom Actuator Issue

I just received this from Grady White CS. I'll give it a shot soon but frankly, it makes no sense to me. I think this implies that there is some sort of calibration procedure with the actuator but they don't exactly say so. Thoughts welcomed. "They share that you need to disconnect the seat...

Passenger Seat 285 Freedom Actuator Issue

Take a look at the pictures attached to see what I mean about the seat not fully retracting.

Passenger Seat 285 Freedom Actuator Issue

The actuator is working fine in both directions.

Passenger Seat 285 Freedom Actuator Issue

The guy who did the install said there is only one pin holding the seat to the actuator and that he never moved the seat. Makes no sense to me.

Passenger Seat 285 Freedom Actuator Issue

Thanks. GW customer service gave me the wrong information regarding even accessing the actuator. I am not counting on them. Once again, I am unite sure it is not an actuator position issue. It is an issue with where the seat itself was placed on the two skids that the actuator pulls in and out.

Passenger Seat 285 Freedom Actuator Issue

Well, here's an update. After careful inspection, it does appear that the seat is not fully retracted. It's not an actuator issue. It looks to me like when the seat recover folks placed the chair back in, they seemed to have afixed it in the wrong place. The actuator is in the middle of two...

Passenger Seat 285 Freedom Actuator Issue

It turns out that nothing was wrong after all. Despite having owned the boat for the past three years, it never occurred to me that this lounge seat when fully retracted was still substantially longer than the seat it backs up to. So, I fully extended the seat and then lifted it to observe that...

Passenger Seat 285 Freedom Actuator Issue

I too suspect that the seat was reinstalled with the actuator in the wrong position.

Passenger Seat 285 Freedom Actuator Issue

It turns out the motor does run in both directions --- or at least tries to. When trying to pull the seat in, and, after engaging the switch, I hear a "clunk". Thus, there is power to the motor in both directions. I have the fellow coming today who reinstalled the seat to take a look. Where are...
