With 2 new starter batteries installed a week ago, the engine should start when the selector switch is set to battery 1, 2 or both. Right?

I had 2 Dynamic starter batteries installed in my 1997 208 Adventure. First trip out, started up on Batt 1, cruised about 20 minutes, set anchor turned off Yamaha 175hp and sat there for about 90 minutes. I used no electronics.
