    Need help with MAIN/AUX tanks

Well for one I bought the boat from a broker. Nice guy but, the "hands on" if you will were not included. The information I have is from having done my research on quality boats. I decided on grady because in Rhode Island/Block island sound, the weather changes on a dime. I am very happy with...

    Need help with MAIN/AUX tanks

Thanks I thought if both tanks were "on" in the rigging area the gas would flow between both tanks ? Guess not. I think the sender is definitely gone. I also use total gallons used too. I wonder hom many gallons does 1 bar on the gauge equal? HMM Peter.

    Need help with MAIN/AUX tanks

I have 2 gas tanks. The main is a 152 gal and the aux is a 50 or 49 gal not sure. My question is how do I isolate the tanks to run on their own? I have used the fuel switch MAIN/AUX and I have put around 400 gals into the main and the aux is always full while I never put any fuel into it? Is...

    RPM Question

Richie, Fuel pumps? I have had a few boats in my years and most of them were outboards. This problem with my starboard engine is sparatic. I have had yamies with water problems and most were from major water and particles in the tank(due to improper placed vent valves) I had no idea there...

    Fuel consumption based on flowscan

Thanks for info Seems I have to use the boat more to get averages. I had gone to the block, mud hole and back on 70 gallons in moderate seas. I think I am averaging 1.5 nautical miles which is less than I like but the comfort and quality I am bringing its worth it. Hey, Gas is down now too...

After 40 minutes of running @ 3600 rpm in rough seas or swells, the starboard engine will drop to 2000 rpm and the boat will...

    Fuel consumption based on flowscan

Thanks for the replies The water was 2' waves in Narragansett bay with 15knot wind on our back. We did have to face the wind on the way back but thank god for enclosures. This was the first time I noted fuel consumption, so I will have to keep an eye out. Thanks

    Fuel consumption based on flowscan

I own a 1997 272 sailfish with T225 yamahas. My last trip I wrote down the total gallons used and compared them when I returned from a rather short and lightly loaded trip. I burned 43 gallons going 38 miles at 26knts based on gps. I understand about bottom growth and speed loss, tide, waves...
