put 250lbs on the transom (me and a large paint bucket :wink: ) and the scuppers hardly moved. how much would full gas tanks matter? currently have about 110 gallons of 202 total capacity.

Just had a powerhead go on a 95 evinrude oceanpro 200 (630 hours 1995 Sailfish27). Anyone know if i could go to 4 stroke suzukis? Looks like a pair would be about 220 pounds more, would this lower the scuppers too much? Thanks!

Turns out gages work when starboard engine key is on. If just running port side engine, gages aren't on. Should they be on either way? 1 more newbie question- I'm assuming the button control on the dash for the switching between the main gas tank and the auxillary gas tank just changes what...

Haven't tried revving them out of gear. Will do so week after next when I get back down to the boat. Thanks for the suggestion.

What is the fuel capacity of a 1995 Sailfish 27? Also, is it normal for the fuel gage not to register at slow speeds? Works when above 10 mph. Same for the trim gages. Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time for such a detailed post. Very helpful. I like to fish, but am not a die hard. I would probably use radar only at night and don't see myself venturing off shore more than a few miles. Sounds like Garmin would fit the bill (I have a handheld Garmin GPS for backup)...

Just purchased a '95 GW 272 Sailfish. It has a sounder and an old Lowrance GPS (lat/long/only no charting) so it needs updating. Would like charting and fish finder with the ability to later add autopilot and broadband radar. Recommendations? Ball park cost? Thanks.

The whole question has been should the old owner do this or a 'pro' and if a 'pro' how much should the discount be on purchase price. Your advise has been helpful and the owner and I are close to an agreement to have thee replaced. Thanks again!

Hi all, Have an agreement to purchase 95 272 Sailfish. Survey came back with some minor things but also said thru hulls have cracks and should be replaced. No water damage to hull yet. Local GW dealer said he'd send it to another of his locations where his 'expert' would do the replacements...

Went to the Detroit Boat Show Saturday and crowds were light. Was told the floor space was cut by a quarter from last year and at least 1/8 of it still sat empty. There were only 2 Gradys there, the biggest a 23'. Such a sad outlook for the show here. 20 years ago it was double the floor...
