transducer location I had to remove the live well to find it on my 87 228. Agravatting design on these 228 livewells IMHO.

I started to compound the hull but something is on it that just gums up real bad. Seems like some kind of poly acrylic. I don't know what was put on the boat before I got it. Any advice on removing so I can get on with the compounding and waxing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tim

I think I found the problem. Apparently the tank has been repaired with some epoxy and is now leaking at the repair as I can see fuel stains have traveled down the bottom of the tank from the repaired area. When replacing, should I use those neoprene strips under the tank? I can see that the...

Not to sound like a total dumb a$$ - but the moter ran great so I did not think to check the Racor/filters. I am headed over to check it right now. If I had a leak at the filter would the motor starve for fuel? Thanks, Tim

Thanks for the advice and heads up on the reverse. I had not even considered prop walk being reversed. With the way slips are layed out and the crowds on weekends, I can easily embarrass myself if the tide is running and the wind blowing. Thanks again, tim

I have found a good deal on a Yamaha 250 ox66 but it is counter rotating. For a single OB installation, is there any down side other than perhaps more expensive props and or more expensive lower unit repair? Thanks, Tim
