I have a 2006 GW 180 and 2005 Marlin 300. On the Marlin I rarely if ever use the tabs and run the boat primarily with engine tilt and trim. The GW 180 is a different animal...It runs bow high to get on plane and with a 7.5 foot beam is tipsy loaded. Saying that I use tabs more on 180... You...

I have a 2005 Marlin 300. Use Teleflex extreme cables. 24' & 26' are sizes you need. You can confirm with GW. You may need to pull off starboard mid berth panels to help guide...Remove binnacle and pull from there...Electrical Tape (real good) new cable with electrical tape with about 12"...
