    Overnighting in a Freedom 225?

I have a Journey 258. I find the cabin is great taking a nap after being out in the sun all day, getting the kinks out of my back, etc. For over nighting I would always go for the room if one was available.

THINKING OF MOVING UP IN SIZE

I have owned a 2006 Journey for about three years now. Very comfortable ride. I'm in Shark River, NJ. I use the boat in the ocean, as well as local bays like Barnegat. I had 19 foot previously, very large difference in comfort.

    Inverter for Journey 258

Hi Guys, I'm thinking about an inverter for my Journey 258. I would use it for a coffee pot, charging cell phone, other small things. Coffee pot uses 550 watts according to the UL label. I would like to mount it to the cabin bulkhead. Might be a long run for battery cable though. I don't see...

    Canvas Project

Hi, Great Lakes sold me the whole package for less than $2,000 if I recall. Bimini, front, side and aft enclosures, and all the hardware. I bought their snap tool, you do need a good one. I also bought extra snaps. Since this was my first time I need extras for redoing some of the inevitable...

    Anyone have an aftermarket bimini?

I just bought a bimini enclosure from Great Lakes. They did a good job, I like the canvas. Has a lot of nice features, including velcro that closes over the zippers. Makes for a nice tight enclosure. Was cheaper than custom canvas too. You should be able to find my posting about it on this web...

    Grady White Journey 258

I have a 2006 GW Journey 258. Mine is powered by a single F250. Performance is very good, 40+ miles an hour top speed. Cruises at 28 using about 10 gph when conditions are good. Twin 150s provide better maneuvering. Performance may not be much different as you have the added weight and drag of...

    Voyager 248

HI, I have a 2006 Journey 258 with a single F250. Bimini top, single fuel tank. Performs very well, numbers are similar to the other posting. Hole shot on my F250 may be slightly better with the variable camshaft timing, but its incremental. The F225 is a great engine. I don't discuss fuel...

    Mounting Stereo Location Advice

Here's how I did mine. This is a 2006 Journey 258. That's a Polyplanar radio mount, installed underneath the electronics box inside the cabin. Working well for me. I still use the remote control, just stick my hand inside the doorway. -rb

    Canvas Project

Hi Guys, I got a 2006 GW 258 Journey last summer, great boat. Had it shipped up from Florida, it had a typical for Florida gunwale to gunwale Bimini. Too cold, too wet, for New Jersey where I have the boat now. Also impeded access to the bow. I had local canvas guys look at the boat. Their...

    Stereo on Journey 258

The advice on the speakers was very helpful. I added box speakers to the bulkhead to the front of the helm chairs. Sound is good. Very unobtrusive location. I want to add another pair, not sure where to put them yet. Right now is looks like I have an electrical problem. The stereo locks up on...

    GRADY WHITE 257 ADVANCE

I have a Journey 258, same hull as the Advance 257. I have the single F250. It has two batteries. Plenty of room in the transom area to add more batteries if you need it. Remember though, that will add weight back there. -reelbeliever

    Stereo on Journey 258

Hi, Going to install a new stereo on my 2006 Journey. The boom box thing is not working out. Bought a Fusion RA-200 kit with speakers. I have some ideas on where to mount the head unit. Speaker placement doesn't seem obvious. I want speakers in the cockpit. Has anyone else done this? Any help...
