    228 dark blue body trim

Like Doc Stressor stated.....wipe down with acetone and then go with 2 coast of Mop'n'Glo. I got this tip from a fellow Great Grady member and it works well.

What type of livewell pump do I need?

OK, Great Grady'ers, I need your help as I am getting desperate. I have a new to me '96 Sailfish 272 that I bought last fall. When I purchased the boat there was no livewell pump motor installed, just the "base" which is fastened to the thru hull fitting. I cannot, for the life of me, figure...

    Sailfish Thru-Hull Diagram ('96 272)

Thanks, Harpoon. Just to clarify my OP.......I mean for ALL of the thru hull fittings (i.e. the ones you mention, fish boxes, sinks, etc....) Some of them I can identify; however, some of them I can not (due to access issues). I've seen in other GW manuals where there is a diagram of each side...

    Sailfish Thru-Hull Diagram ('96 272)

Hello, folks. I had a 'good' fall season as I sold my '86 Seafarer and picked up a new to me '96 Sailfish 272 with twin Yamaha 200HP's. I am trying to determine what each of the thru hull fittings are for. I obtained a copy of the manual for this boat from the GW website. However, the manual...

    Engine alarms

Some thing to check (if you have not already)....is check the oil reservoir under the cowling for the appropirate oil level. The reservoir tank could be full, but the under cowling tank empty. Has the remote oil tank oil filter been replaced recently? Just a couple of thoughts.....good luck.

    strange turning issue

I had an issue where my Seafarer was listing to stbd while U/W. I determined that it was the zinc on the anti-cavitation plate. When I replaced my waterpump over the winter I had placed the "skeg" of the zinc in-line with the centerline of the engine.........the natural torque force of the...

Laboratory Oil Analysis of Lower Unit Oil

Do any of you folks ever send your lower unit oil out for a lab analysis as a way to try to 'predict' upcoming problems with your LU? I'm just curious on anyone's experience doing this. Thank you, and I love this forum.

    Hydraulic Steering

I have a 1986 Seafarer 22 w/Yammy 200 O/B. I just purchased the boat last summer; thus, I'm winterizing it now for the long New England winter (sad). This is the first boat I've owned with hydraulic steering. Is there anything that needs to be done to "winterize" the hydraulic steering...

    12 volt DC Question

Wow! A lot of GREAT feedback. Thank you all for the guidance.....time to get to work troubleshooting.......after I catch some fall fish, of course. Tx.

    12 volt DC Question

I have a 12V issue that is making me scratch my head a lot. I have two batteries (along with selector switch)...and the batteries are brand new this season. I had an old interior cabin light (incandescent) that I replaced with an LED light (with lo-high switch). During my install the light...

    Batteries in Winter

As a GW owner who lives in a colder climate (Rhode Island), Richie Rich hit the nail on the head.....keep the batteries out of garage so they don't freeze, and off the basement floor for "cold" reasons. The garage vs. basement issue is probably not an issue in SoCal, but is in New Engalnd...
