The longest trip I really intend to do is ~120mi each way - and then trolling 3-6kts. Don't have a ton of time these days, so it would be 1 night overnights in the Canyon, so probably 1/2 tank of diesel on the genset. I tend to leave both of my outboards running when making trips like that - but...

    sick 2005 yami 250's

Locally (North Shore MA) most dealers are willing to work out some sort of "trade value" for the old engines, especially if you've spent good money with them prior to repowering. I would discuss with the shop/yard that would be doing the repower, but personally, I wouldn't spend more money on...

Got a ride on a friend's 33 with 425s and it seemed to do right around 1.05 NMPG - definitely feels like the best power package.

Thanks for the update. These numbers are great. Ideally, I would like to find a boat with 425s on it, but my budget likely won't allow it. If I end up with an F350 boat, the V10s will be top of the list for a repower.

Kind of a silly question about fenders, and lines… I need some for my new 216 fisherman…what size, how many, what color ?

First, congratulations on the new boat! I go with white fenders because it's easy to see when they need to be cleaned. Lines, I go with oversized 3 strand and I splice the loops myself. I prefer to have different length lines for bow/stern/spring - I don't need a 25' spring line (yes I know you...

That sounds like an awesome trip, and very similar to how I would be loaded for the same trip. Very encouraging. 1NMPG is completely acceptable to me for a trip like that.

Raising helm chairs on 306 Canyon

Sounds like you are the perfect contender for some Eco Enertia props, or another stern lifting prop. Made a huge difference in running attitude on my Regulator

Raising helm chairs on 306 Canyon

If it's flat calm, you shouldn't need any tab down - have them all the way up and adjust with engine trim. I don't touch my tabs until I need to put more bow in the water to knock down some chop.

Raising helm chairs on 306 Canyon

Make a spacer for the base. Should be easy enough to mount. Probably need longer bolts. I wouldn't go up too much - maybe 2"

    His might say L/HR - but I'm 99% sure that's a setup issue and it's gal/hr

Raising helm chairs on 306 Canyon

I've always had issues on "high consoles" CC's since I'm a whopping 5'3" - but I can't remember having any issues piloting my buddy's old Canyon 306. I would play with running angle, maybe don't open the electronics box as high, or as a last resort raise the seats. I run mostly leaning on the...

Those are great numbers! I calculate everything in NMPG - so 1:1 @ 30kts and 1.1:1 @ 25.5kts - that's a very desirable level of performance (IMO). That engine combo would be great for NE Canyon fishing - plenty of range which is exactly what I'm looking for. Curious - what year is your hull?

Test drove a gulfstream today - carumba

As posted above - true 3-4s is going to be sloppy in most boats under 35ft. In true 3-4s, my Regulator has the tabs down and I am probably running 24-26kts, and there will be an occasional *bang*.

    326 electronics advice

I know nothing about Solace, so I can't help there. My Regulator 26 is a 2003 and has held up better than many boats 10-15yrs newer. Still rides like a tank, no shuddering, no destroyed hardware, nothing creaks or bangs. From being on friend's 28s, 31s, and 34s, the 31 is my favorite of them...
