Good afternoon.....

just spent $$ on replacement VST's, fuel system parts (pumps, filters etc.) oil, filters, anodes, plugs, tilt switches, separators, water pumps. Now i find out that i apparently have the dreaded rot. I was told they didn't see anything abnormal when they did the water pumps. Now I have milky oil in both engines. Is it worth having the fix done (and oil pumps while I'm in there) and then selling them with receipts to prove the work was legit? Engines have 1050 hours on them. I have a line on 2 new 300's for the 330 express. I don't want to sell a set of POS engines to someone. That's not right, but I don't know if it is worth the expense to fix and then sell and try to recoup some of the $$ or just try to sell them of for parts cheap. what say you ? The knowledgeable crew? I have about 5k wrapped up in them as of now.
thanks

Locally (North Shore MA) most dealers are willing to work out some sort of "trade value" for the old engines, especially if you've spent good money with them prior to repowering. I would discuss with the shop/yard that would be doing the repower, but personally, I wouldn't spend more money on obsolete and flawed engines.

Isn’t the mid-section repair $3k/motor? After that repair are they worth $8-10k each with 1000+ hours?
