Have an 04 Marlin tried the A/C during the heat wave we’re having it was running, set to cold & pumping water but not putting out cold air. I know the unit is behind the fridge. Has anyone tried recharging it? Can I use the same coolant u can buy at an auto parts store?
Thanks

You would be better off using a qualified technician to diagnose and repair you unit. It may be a low charge or it could be a lot more causes.
Without knowing what refrigerant your unit takes, I can't say if you would find it in an autoparts store ( and as I said, you shouldn't be looking for it). Older Freon based refrigerants are not easy to find or banned from sales. Some of those can run $1000 and for a bottle.
Of course, it is possible that your unit is worn out and would need replacement. You can not make that determination.

My daily driver car is a 2006 Honda Civic that's bone stock and just hit over 270k miles on the original engine/transmission. It has a small leak in the ac unit to where I have to top it off every year or every other year. I tried the cheap cans from your local auto parts store and they worked for a day or so and that was it. I've heard that you need a high pressure unit to force the freon/product into the lines, and most of the time what you buy from the auto parts stores don't come with that. I'd recommend a dealer or other tech looking at it, as you don't just run out of freon considering it's a closed system. You've got to have a leak somewhere, if that's the main culprit itself and is the reason why you're not getting the cold air.

Does the thermostat show that it is in cooling mode and not cold or its doesn't get to cooling mode?

I would recommend the following test mode per the thermostat manual. If it blows cold during this test it is a bad temperature sensor.

To activate the self-test program, disconnect the AC power, then press and hold the Power button while restoring the ACpower. During Power-On Reset (the display indicates “888” and all LEDs are lit), release the Power button. The control is now inthe self-test program and “tSt” appears in the display.Once activated, the self-test software continuously executes the following commands:1. Turn on Heat Mode and supply heating for ten minutes.2. Stop heating and run only the fan for five minutes.3. Switch to Cool Mode and continue cooling for ten minutes.4. Stop cooling and run only the fan for five minutes.5. Return to step one and repeat procedure until interrupted.

Thanks @athomp228 do you know what model is in the Marlin and where I can downlaod the manual? I wonder if my panel or control boat are messed up? I did the power on press while turning on the breaker I got the 888 but not tSt display which s the same thing that happens when just powering on also I can not switch from cool to heat when pressing the upper left button. See link below. One more thing you can try is to enter the program mode and change to "cool only" (#1 option in P1 parameter). See page 12 on the PDF. You are most likely in auto mode meaning the system will go into heat/cool mode depending on the temperature you have set without having the option to manually do it. The problem with auto mode is if you have a bad temperature sensor it will never get to a point to enter cooling mode in auto because of an inaccurate temperature.

@athomp228 thanks for the link my display might be bad as I can’t get into program mode, reset with the power down buttons or switch to heat from cool. Also had a tech come out who said there was freon but the LP & HP ports read the same he concluded compressor is bad. I’m thinking reversing valve could be stuck but won’t know till I can get power to the solenoid. Have a line on a used IO display will give that a try & report back.
