Have an 04 Marlin tried the A/C during the heat wave we’re having it was running, set to cold & pumping water but not putting out cold air. I know the unit is behind the fridge. Has anyone tried recharging it? Can I use the same coolant u can buy at an auto parts store?
Thanks

You would be better off using a qualified technician to diagnose and repair you unit. It may be a low charge or it could be a lot more causes.
Without knowing what refrigerant your unit takes, I can't say if you would find it in an autoparts store ( and as I said, you shouldn't be looking for it). Older Freon based refrigerants are not easy to find or banned from sales. Some of those can run $1000 and for a bottle.
Of course, it is possible that your unit is worn out and would need replacement. You can not make that determination.

My daily driver car is a 2006 Honda Civic that's bone stock and just hit over 270k miles on the original engine/transmission. It has a small leak in the ac unit to where I have to top it off every year or every other year. I tried the cheap cans from your local auto parts store and they worked for a day or so and that was it. I've heard that you need a high pressure unit to force the freon/product into the lines, and most of the time what you buy from the auto parts stores don't come with that. I'd recommend a dealer or other tech looking at it, as you don't just run out of freon considering it's a closed system. You've got to have a leak somewhere, if that's the main culprit itself and is the reason why you're not getting the cold air.
