And, to add... this is not an uncommon thing for any boat. Seats are pushed outwards during installation to allow for maximum room between the seats yet still allow them to spin. If they spun easily in any direction without having to slide them, then people would complain that there's not enough walking room between the seats.![]()
Boats are often all about trade-offs - even more so in smaller ones.
Thank you again, Dennis. I do agree that all boats have tradeoffs and agree that even if there was a mechanism to move the seat from side to side, there would be no room to get to the front cabin. I am 6 foot 5 to complicate things even more. As it is, I had to remove the arms of the chair so I don't have to "sqeeze" by them to get into the cabin. I didn't have this problem at all with my old Proline using the old plastic style seats. I just thought this Grady was an upgrade for me and now I am thinking about replacing the current seats with the old plastic style so the seating is functional. I am not that fancy a person. Oh well.....And, to add... this is not an uncommon thing for any boat. Seats are pushed outwards during installation to allow for maximum room between the seats yet still allow them to spin. One doesn't worry about scratching cheap plastic seats, eitherThank you again, Dennis.
