Start up sounds good to me except that "clanking" noise sound like water starvation (need impeller maybe?). As far as the shut down, is not normal. Like someone mentioned already looks like you have a "leak" somewhere.

If you go with surface mount and exposed wire you don't have to screw anything on the transom, just 5200 it.

Just 3 on the transom is fine. As far as brands they are so many out there to choose from but the best way to go is LED lights.

If you have shore power, install the inverter as close to batteries as possible, then rig a cable with a male plug on one end to plug in the interter and on the other end a female 20 or 30 amp plug to match your shore power plug on your boat and simply connect it to it. This is the safest way...

Brian, what are you trying to access ? What is behind that plate ? I don't know if you know but they make 5" round plates too.

If available, starboard is a better backing material than plywood, you could go up to 3/4" thick and should curve the contour of the bow deck.

If you can get your hands on a 3206 would be great. That is a great GPS. The older 498 is a great unit too.

I had the same problem with my 330 and the helm seat and what i did was i removed the arm rests and gave me much more room i thought it would. You table idea is a different story, i like it.

Really nice and neat job. I installed a windlass on all my boats, even the skiff i had and i did all the work my self like you did and loved it. By bringing back the windlass you could add maybe another 100 feet of rope.

I am pretty sure you can get that slow of a speed with only one motor, i had that boat with 250's though and i know is a heavy boat. I will try with my current boat to see how slow i can get.
